Dolan's first food was beef jerky. He loves the stuff. The other day he was getting grumpy so I gave him some beef jerky and he was happy for a long time... chewing and sucking on it.

Missing Daddy

Today Kevin left for Ottawa and we are already missing him :(

He will be back late Friday so we will try to keep busy without Daddy around. Right now Dolan is eating some beef jerky on my lap so I can post this entry.

This photo was taken on Saturday at the LaFayette Family Reunion. If Dolan is patient I might even be able to post more photos from the event.

Dolan is feeling better today!!! Not 100% better but doing a lot better.

Last week we had a photo shoot with Kevin Dyck, a local photographer in Saskatoon. Dolan and I met him at Homestead Ice Cream and then we met Kevin at the Ag building to take family photos. Kevin posted a few samples on his blog:

Last Week

Thursday...




And Friday...




Last Thursday Dolan sat on the grass for the first time. It was hard and dusty and he didn't enjoy it very much. But, the next day, Friday, we had a blizzard in Saskatoon. The grass was covered with snow. Can you believe that these photos were taken a day apart? If you are from Sasaktchewan you can believe it!!!

Right now (Wednesday afternoon) it is raining. There is no sign of any snow but it is cold and wet. Welcome to Saskatchewan!

Sick Baby

We have been at home with a sick baby since Sunday at 6:00 A.M. The poor guy has a virus and is vomiting :( He seems to be getting better and then he vomits again. Right now he is sleeping in my arms. The doctor at the emergency room said that there is alot of this going around. It usually last 3-5 days but if it lasts a week to come back. Hopefully he gets better soon.

Big Boy at 7 1/2 months

Look at how he is growing!!! He is crawling and exploring like crazy. Tonight Kevin put him on his ride/push toy and he stayed on! He is not quite ready to walk by himself but that will come before I know it...

Exploring

Now that Dolan can crawl, he can find all kinds of new fun things the see and do. He can crawl over to the DVD's, pull them out and then chew on them. Ah... what fun babies can have! I just love the fact that Dolan chose the DVD that highlights the story of his family history. Dolan's ancestors were some of the first black settlers in Saskatchewan. Dolan's Great Uncle is featured on the DVD. You can read about the LaFayette's settling in Saskatchewan in the Encyclopedia of Saskatchewan at the following link:

Serious Conversations at 7 months

Property

We put an offer to purchase 10 acres of land, 10 minutes north west of the city. Here are some photos of the land taken Tuesday night. We are looking at purchasing a ready to move home. Dog Walk

Last Sunday we had beautiful weather. We bundled up Dolan and packed up the dogs and headed for the dog park so Dolan could go for his first sled ride. Well... by the time we got Dolan to the park he was fast asleep :) I decided that Dolan should still have the experience (even though he was asleep) so I put him in the sled. As soon as he was in the sled he started to cry so needless to say it was a short sled ride! Instead he went into the Baby Trekker and enjoyed the walk sleeping while daddy carried him.

On the way home we stopped at Tim Horton's and went through the drive through. The dogs enjoyed the stop because they received a Tims bit from the cashier.

Dominion Champions

My dad and his team won the National Dominion Legion Championship for Curling last week. My mom was the only wife there :) She had a great time cheering everyone on. Congratulations!!!!

Saskatoon Sun

If you live in Saskatoon make sure you read the Saskatoon Sun. My dad's photo is on the cover and there is a very large photo on page 32. On Sunday my parents are leaving for Dauphin, Manitoba because my dad is representing Saskatchewan in Legion curling.

Exersaucer

Dolan is a baby of motion. He is 6 months and wants to go, go, go. He loves his jolly jumper and exersaucer. Or as Crispi would say, "Ring of Neglect". He is not crawling yet but is moving around the room. He can use his arms to move his body in a sideways motion. He cannot move forward. He loves laying on his tummy. Everytime I put him on his back he rolls over onto his tummy.

Bath Time

When I was scrapbooking and going through my stickers, I realized I had a lot of baby bath stickers. So tonight I took some photos of Dolan in the bath. I love how the water looks in the photos.
