Maternity Photo

O.K. Just one more photo... I scrolled back through my blog and realized that I never posted any of my maternity photos. So here is a photo that was taken three weeks before Dolan was born.

Dolan's Room

This is the piggy bank that I bought with Dolan's baptism money from Great Aunt Carol.

This bird is on Dolan's lamp.

This lion is a part of his mobile that hangs over the diaper table.

Sweet little shoes received as a baby gift from Doug and Tarina.

O.K. enough blogging and Facebook time for tonight. I also loaded more photos onto Facebook. If you are not a friend of mine on Facebook search for me to see more Dolan photos, Nita's wedding and Jayden's birthday party.

Random Things

Here are some random things in my house...

Pax Lodge Bear

These are special. When Kevin was traveling overseas (Japan?) he played one of those arcade machines with stuffed animals in them. With one try he got not one but two stuffed animals! Isn't my husband amazing?

Winter blend Starbucks coffee.

Very nice green tea that my friend Brenda brought back from China.

Dolan's winter boots. These were made in Canada. These are random things but most are from other countries... hmmm... how interesting...

Happy Wuv Day!

I was pleasantly surprised to receive flowers on Wuv Day :)

6 Months

Here is Dolan's 6 month bear photo. If you have not seen the 1-5 month photos just scroll down to view them.

Mom's Group Reflection

I belong to a Mom's group through the Catholic Church. We meet every Wednesday morning. There is a guest speaker each week and grandmothers volunteer to watch the babies and toddlers. And in a Catholic women's group there are alot of children! One mom is pregnant with her 6th child and another is pregnant with her 4th child. I do want more children but I don't think I will catch up with those ladies :)

So today another mom shared how she will often do the EASY thing and just take her eldest daughter to church. Her 15 year old daughter likes to go to church and it is hard to get the younger children to go. So the other day she decided to take all the children to church. She said to them, "Anyone who comes to church with me will stop by McDonalds for lunch after." Of course all the children went to church this day. It was a weekday mass (February break) and the Priest did not do a homily so it was a short mass. The mom's young son was so impressed! "Wow," he said, "If weekday mass is only 20 minutes, I will go ALL the time!". He was quite glad that he went to church that day and the mother was glad she didn't take the easy way out.

This story made me reflect about the times that I also take the EASY way out. I will often skip church because it is easier to stay home. It is hard to get Dolan all bundled up and then watch him and keep him quiet during the mass.

Personality

Each day I see more and more of Dolan's personality. He is changing and growing up so quickly. He has been eating solid food for almost two weeks now. We started with carrots and then added chicken and apples. He is just now starting to enjoy it and eat some of it.

Yesterday Rose came over and brought Dim Sum for lunch. We were both eating and Dolan was sitting beside us in his exersaucer. Archie came by and "CHOMP" Dolan had his whole poodle nose in his mouth!!! Poor Archie did not expect that! But he handled it well and didn't seem to mind the wet muzzle. No damage was done because Dolan does not have teeth yet and I interfered before Archie even realized what happened.

Growing

Each month I have taken a photo of Dolan with his bear. Look at how he has grown.

One month old

Two months old

Three months old

Four months old

Five months old

Not only can you see how he has grown but you can see his personality develop.

Cousins

At the beginning of the month we visited Dolan's cousin in Calgary. I just had to post their photo because you can definitely see the family resemblance in their eyes :)
