Christmas Pictures

I wanted to share some Christmas photos but they didn't get transfered to the PC yet. So instead I thought I would share a random cute Dolan photo. Dolan is sleeping now so I am going to take advantage of that and head to bed myself :) Happy New Year everyone and you will hear back from me again soon.

New Hope Dog Rescue

I have always wanted to have foster children but Kevin just wasn't interested in the idea. He was able to compromise and instead we had two foster puppies. We received our foster puppies from New Hope Dog Rescue. This is a local organization that is volunteer run and nonprofit. The dogs are either given up by their owners or slated for euthanasia at a local animal shelter. The foster dogs are looked after by volunteers in their homes until a permanent home can be found. Petfinder is the major advertising that New Hope uses.

Both Tilly and Basil are now in wonderful homes.

More Milestones

Today my sweet baby sat up. Not 100% on his own but enough to make me proud :) He was laying down on his back and trying so hard to sit. He grabbed my fingers and with just a little bit of help sat up. He only did it by himself for a moment but it was such a great moment. He thought it was so much fun, he wanted to do it again and again.

P.S. The sunglasses are from Justin and the outfit is from Stephanie. Thanks guys, he sure does look cool :) Look at his belly bulging through the shirt...

Love You Forever

Tonight I read "Love You Forever" by Robert Munch to my son. I have read this story many times but today it made me cry and I almost couldn't finish the last page. I guess it just has a greater meaning now. If you haven't read this story yet, I highly recommend it.

First Santa Photo

Today was Kevin's work Children's Christmas Party. We went to the Fun Factory. Dolan didn't even wake up for his photo with Santa. Doesn't he look so relaxed!!!

Go Riders Go

The Riders won the Grey Cup on Sunday. Dolan showed his Rider Pride by wearing a green diaper and two green outfits. He also had a chance to try out the Jolly Jumper that Grandpa and Grandma Kun purchased for him. Dolan enjoyed the game with Uncle Ryan, Mommy, Daddy, and Grandpa and Grandma Kun.

Oh... I can't forget to mention Archie, Yogi and Scooter. The only reason I am adding this is because Archie made it into two of the photos!!

This Little Piggy

I went to pull out some pork chops for supper and this is what I found...

New Milestone

Today Dolan rolled over for the first time. He was having tummy time on the floor in the living room and he rolled onto his back. I had to call my mom and ask if there was difference between rolling over and falling over... It seemed to be more of a fall to me, but hey, he did it himself...

This post has nothing to do with the photo, I just don't have a photo of him rolling over so I had to substitute another cute photo. I can't have a post without a cute Dolan photo ;)

Baptism

Sunday was Dolan's baptism. We asked my brother Ryan to be his Godfather. We also asked Kanndece and Victor Quijada-Sawitsky to be his Godparents. We were very happy that many people were able to come out and enjoy this special day with us. Witnessing his baptism was Grandma and Grandpa Kun, Grandma and Grandpa Graham, Jennifer, Wendy, Ryan and Andrew, Great Aunt Irene and Great Uncle Larry, Trudy and Gordon, Ryan, Kanndece, and Great Aunt Carol,

Bob Adams Awards of Excellence

On Saturday Aunt Carol received the Bob Adams Award of Excellence in the Masters category. This summer Auntie broke a world record for 200 meters in Track and Field. We were her guests at the Awards banquet. As we were leaving a lady came up to us and asked if Dolan was there the whole time, because she didn't hear him cry once... I was so proud of how well behaved he was. The only issue was that Mommy forgot to pack extra socks and Dolan peed on his only pair, ooops ;)

Moving Forward

The prerequisite to crawling is moving forward. Dolan was laying on the floor on his tummy this evening. He was holding his head up very well. Then he moved his legs and his whole body moved forward. He didn't know how to move his hands forwards so he ended up with his face squashed into the floor... but he did move. Mommy and Daddy were pretty excited!!! Twelve weeks old and moving... I am going to have to keep an eye on this guy :)

He has also been chewing on his fist and holding onto objects. Ahhh... the excitement of a newborn...

New Parents

Congratulations to my friend Jean and her husband Faycal!!! Their first baby is due in four months. I was happy to see the expecting parents this past weekend. Don't they look like natural parents??? I am so excited for them and can't wait for Jean to become a new mom.

Swimming

On Tuesday we went swimming for the first time. I would love to register Dolan for swimming lessons after Christmas but I didn't want to do it unless we had at least experienced the pool once. I was really looking forward to our swimming date until Saturday, then I started to worry... how will I breastfeed in my bathing suit??? how will I blow dry my hair??? But once we got there and the babies were enjoying the water, all my worries melted away. We swam with Liam, Lily-Anne and Andrew. All the babies are between 2 and 4 months old. It was a great afternoon and I was glad to have other moms with babies Dolan's age to swim with.

Mining Photos

My dad wanted to see the photo of me and the big mining truck after we watched a Discovery Channel show about Fort McMurray. Instead of e-mailing him the photos I thought I would just post them here. In August of 2004 I attending a mining tour for Saskatchewan Teachers. The following photos are from the coal mine and the Uranium mine.

Daddy and Me...

I just had to take this photo of Kevin and Dolan in front of the computer. What age do you think Dolan will be typing? As soon as he can sit up?

Archie's New Haircut

I don't know where I found the time but I did give Archie a haircut.

Happy Halloween

Dolan enjoyed his first Halloween at 10 weeks old :) First Grandma dressed him up in his costume and then we took the dogs walking with our neighbour, Kim and her daughter. The walk was cut short because Yogi swallowed some garbage. So we headed back home and called the vet. Yogi got 6 tsp. of hydrogen peroxide and a short while later he puked it up... In the evening we again dressed up Dolan and took him to visit the neighbours. Daddy even got in on the fun and brought home a mustache that everyone tried on...



All happy and giggly for the photos. That is until he went to have a photo with mommy... Then he wanted to nurse!



Dolan loves our walks. He falls asleep pretty much immediately and doesn't usually wake up until we get home.

Daddy thought he would scare us with his mustache.... but we wanted to get into the fun also...

We are now enjoying our new furnace. Kevin is sleeping more... When he wakes up in the morning he is so nice and warm that he turns over and goes back to sleep :)
