Sweet Baby Feet

Ahh... Those precious newborn baby feet...

The Great Mouse Hunt

Today we were working in the garage because Kevin is making a baby hammock. I once doubted Kevin's hammock making abilities but he proved me wrong. I posted a picture of Kevin's hammock skills on my first or second blog posting. But anyways this post isn't about the hammock but about Archie and his hunting abilities. About a week ago Kevin noticed a mouse in the garage. It got into a bag of bird seed. Kevin actually caught the mouse but it tried to bite him and got loose. Since the "mouse" tried to bite Kevin, he thinks it is a shrew. Do mice try to bite people??? Back to the story... Today Archie caught the mouse in his mouth and killed it. We know there is another mouse in the garage because when Kevin caught the mouse the first time he saw a second one. What excitement!!! I went off to get my camera but of course I couldn't find it in time...

Mommy and Dolan

Today was a busy day for Mommy and Dolan. First we had to make sure we were up (so Mommy missed her morning nap) because our Good Food Box was delivered this morning. Included in the box was carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, pears, bananas, an onion, squash, a cucumber, oranges and broccoli. Hmmm I think that was everything... Then we bundled up and went to Don's Photo to print some of our beautiful newborn photos. Off to Costco next to meet Grandma and pick up more photos. Then at Costco we waited in line for the Car Seat Clinic. It took forever!!! We got there before 1:00 (the time it started) and we didn't finish until 2:00. After Costco we headed to Preston Crossing. There we picked up a part for the water heater. The pilot light went out last night so no hot water until it was fixed. We also headed to Old Navy. On the way home we stopped at the library and there we picked up a SmartPack (You can see more information on the SmartPack at: http://www.sasked.gov.sk.ca/sasksmart/). After all this we were pretty tired. So after supper we headed to bed and Mommy had a chance to finally make up that missed nap!!

Good Food Box

Next week we will start receiving our free Good Food Box. When the public health nurse came to visit she said that since I am exclusively breastfeeding I qualify to receive a free good food box every two weeks until he is six months or is not exclusively breastfeeding. The box normally cost $12 and contains six different veggies, two kinds of fruit and one grain. You can find more information on the box at: http://www.chep.org/gfb/index.html

Two Weeks old

This photo was taken when Dolan was two weeks old. The blanket was given to us by the public health nurse. She said they have volunteers who knit the blankets for the new babies. It is a beautiful blanket and so for very warm. It is great for tummy time. I also wanted to post this photo because you can see his beautiful eyes. Poor Grandma Kun. She had to wait three days to see his eyes. Everyday she would come over and ask, "Are his eyes open?" and the answer was always, "No. He is most awake at night." So on the third day Grandma came over at nine o'clock in the evening. Guess what happened??? She finally saw his eyes... Now he has alot more time where he is wide awake with his eyes wide open.

Baby Shower

I had a great time at the baby shower yesterday. It was so nice to see all the support from my friends and my mom's friends. Dolan received many gorgeous and thoughtful gifts. I will admit that I feeling some of the baby blues on Saturday so the party on Sunday was exactly what I needed to boost my spirits. It is hard to believe that my little baby boy will fit into all the outfits before I know it!!

Dolan

I love this photo because Daddy and Grandma are having so much fun changing Dolan's diaper. Poor Daddy he can't change Dolan's diaper without getting pied on, and Grandma is holding up the evidence to prove it!

The public health nurse came today. Dolan is growing and growing. On Tuesday he weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and today he weighed 8 lbs. 8 oz. What a healthy baby!

Baby Shower

The baby shower will be on Sunday at 2:00. It is at my mom's house in Martensville, 30 5th Avenue North. If you can make it please e-mail or call me. My mom and I have been trying to call everyone but I know I haven't called everyone yet. I don't know where the time goes but the day just flies by.

Labour Day Classic

Dolan enjoyed his first Labour Day Classic game on Sunday. Daddy really wanted to watch the game, so we went to the Grandparents in Martensville on Sunday afternoon. Grandpa, Uncle Ryan, Daddy and Dolan enjoyed the game while Mommy rested upstairs. Grandma spent the afternoon sewing a large diaper bag for the cloth diapers, a small diaper bag to take on outings and curtains for Dolan's room.

Diaper Gift

I knew I forgot a baby gift. This cute diaper bear was sent over compliments of the SED Social Committee. Thanks guys!!

Mazda 5

I now interrupt the baby blog with a post about our new vehicle. You may have noticed that the baby is still included in this post :) On Friday we picked up our new Mazda 5. My car was in an accident in July and we finally settled everything with SGI. We were looking at station wagons and when we saw the Mazda 5 we were instantly won over. It has the features of a mini van (sliding doors, seats that fold down, and seating for 6) but drives like a car. Kanndece and Victor were visiting the other day and we all piled into the car. We had 5 people and two dogs comfortably in the vehicle.
