Sick Baby

We have been at home with a sick baby since Sunday at 6:00 A.M. The poor guy has a virus and is vomiting :( He seems to be getting better and then he vomits again. Right now he is sleeping in my arms. The doctor at the emergency room said that there is alot of this going around. It usually last 3-5 days but if it lasts a week to come back. Hopefully he gets better soon.

Big Boy at 7 1/2 months

Look at how he is growing!!! He is crawling and exploring like crazy. Tonight Kevin put him on his ride/push toy and he stayed on! He is not quite ready to walk by himself but that will come before I know it...

Exploring

Now that Dolan can crawl, he can find all kinds of new fun things the see and do. He can crawl over to the DVD's, pull them out and then chew on them. Ah... what fun babies can have! I just love the fact that Dolan chose the DVD that highlights the story of his family history. Dolan's ancestors were some of the first black settlers in Saskatchewan. Dolan's Great Uncle is featured on the DVD. You can read about the LaFayette's settling in Saskatchewan in the Encyclopedia of Saskatchewan at the following link:

Serious Conversations at 7 months

Having a serious conversation with the bear. Dolan's godparents gave him the bear while we were visiting last week.

Dog Walk

Last Sunday we had beautiful weather. We bundled up Dolan and packed up the dogs and headed for the dog park so Dolan could go for his first sled ride. Well... by the time we got Dolan to the park he was fast asleep :) I decided that Dolan should still have the experience (even though he was asleep) so I put him in the sled. As soon as he was in the sled he started to cry so needless to say it was a short sled ride! Instead he went into the Baby Trekker and enjoyed the walk sleeping while daddy carried him.

On the way home we stopped at Tim Horton's and went through the drive through. The dogs enjoyed the stop because they received a Tims bit from the cashier.

Exersaucer

Dolan is a baby of motion. He is 6 months and wants to go, go, go. He loves his jolly jumper and exersaucer. Or as Crispi would say, "Ring of Neglect". He is not crawling yet but is moving around the room. He can use his arms to move his body in a sideways motion. He cannot move forward. He loves laying on his tummy. Everytime I put him on his back he rolls over onto his tummy.

Bath Time

When I was scrapbooking and going through my stickers, I realized I had a lot of baby bath stickers. So tonight I took some photos of Dolan in the bath. I love how the water looks in the photos.

6 Months

Personality

Each day I see more and more of Dolan's personality. He is changing and growing up so quickly. He has been eating solid food for almost two weeks now. We started with carrots and then added chicken and apples. He is just now starting to enjoy it and eat some of it.

Yesterday Rose came over and brought Dim Sum for lunch. We were both eating and Dolan was sitting beside us in his exersaucer. Archie came by and "CHOMP" Dolan had his whole poodle nose in his mouth!!! Poor Archie did not expect that! But he handled it well and didn't seem to mind the wet muzzle. No damage was done because Dolan does not have teeth yet and I interfered before Archie even realized what happened.

Growing

At the beginning of the month we visited Dolan's cousin in Calgary. I just had to post their photo because you can definitely see the family resemblance in their eyes :)

First Video

Today we shot our first video of Dolan. It was 9:45 P.M. and Dolan was getting quite excited while laying on the floor. I shot the video but the hockey game was on the t.v. so I muted the t.v. and started a new video. He was just having a great time giggling and flailing about.

More Milestones

Today my sweet baby sat up. Not 100% on his own but enough to make me proud :) He was laying down on his back and trying so hard to sit. He grabbed my fingers and with just a little bit of help sat up. He only did it by himself for a moment but it was such a great moment. He thought it was so much fun, he wanted to do it again and again.

P.S. The sunglasses are from Justin and the outfit is from Stephanie. Thanks guys, he sure does look cool :) Look at his belly bulging through the shirt...

Love You Forever

Tonight I read "Love You Forever" by Robert Munch to my son. I have read this story many times but today it made me cry and I almost couldn't finish the last page. I guess it just has a greater meaning now. If you haven't read this story yet, I highly recommend it.

First Santa Photo
